DiSC Personality Tests
The DiSC profile, published by Wiley, is a tool that analyzes an individual's personality based on four main behaviors. It was created by William Moulton Marston, a physiological psychologist with a degree from Harvard.
The Different Personalities (Types or Traits)
The principle of the DiSC is that there are four types of behavior or four modes of communication: the Dominant type, the Influential type, the Steady type, and the Conscientious type, hence the term DiSC.

An individual described as Dominant
- Is motivated by winning, competition, and success.
- Place a priority on achieving immediate results.
- Is described as direct, demanding, energetic, strong-willed, motivated, and determined.
- May be limited by lack of interest in others, impatience, and open skepticism.
- May fear being perceived as vulnerable or being taken advantage of.
- Values competence, action, concrete results, freedom, and challenge.
An individual described as Influential
- May be limited by impulsiveness and disorganization, and lack of follow-through.
- Is described as compelling, magnetic, enthusiastic, warm, confident, and optimistic.
- Is motivated by social recognition, group activities, and interpersonal relationships.
- May fear loss of influence and disapproval.
An individual described as Steady
- Is motivated by cooperation, opportunities to help, and genuine appreciation.
- Prioritizes support, collaboration, and maintaining stability.
- Is described as calm, patient, predictable, stable, and consistent.
- May be limited by indecisiveness, over-accommodation, and a tendency to avoid change.
- May fear loss of stability and offending others.
- Values loyalty, caring, and security.
An individual described as Conscientious
- Is motivated by opportunities to gain knowledge, demonstrate expertise, and perform quality work.
- Place a priority on accuracy, maintaining stability, and challenging assumptions.
- Is described as careful, systematic, diplomatic, accurate, and tactful.
- May be limited by being overcritical, overanalyzing, and isolating.
- May fear criticism and being wrong.
- Values quality and accuracy.
